About Us

Paramount Baptist Church (PBC) is a family church that displays its love for Jesus and God’s people through its various ministries. Paramount has grown tremendously since its inception in 1907. In 2017 Paramount celebrated 110 years of ministry. The impact of our ministry reaches not only Southeast Washington but nationally and internationally. Paramount’s history spans 112 years under the leadership of eight pastors, the current being Rev. Kenneth E. Rioland, Jr. Rev. Dr. Ishmael L. Shaw, the seventh pastor, retired in October 2019 after 37 years of inspired service.
